David Defended his PhD thesis

David Kretzler successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Distributed Computation Meets Blockchain: Advanced Cryptographic Services from Blockchain Features.” at TU Darmstadt on September 27, 2024. David presented his research results during his doctoral examination. The examination committee consisted of Prof. Carmit Hazay (Bar-Ilan University), Prof. Dr. Zsolt Istvan (TU Darmstadt), Prof. Dr. Thomas Schneider (TU Darmstadt), and Prof. Sebastian Faust (TU Darmstadt). During his research, David advanced the research on blockchain-based cryptography, a recent trend in cryptography that leverages the rich functionality provided by blockchains to implement new cryptographic services and enhance existing ones. His research has been published in leading cryptography and security conferences. The Chair of Applied Cryptography team congratulates David and wishes him all the best for his future career.
