Extended Seminar – Machine Learning and Data Mining
This seminar is offered in cooperation with the Knowledge Engineering Group and Machine Learning Lab. Please note current announcements to this course at http://www.ke.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de/lehre!
The purpose of the seminar is to discuss new research papers in the areas of data mining and machine learning. Every participant will present one paper, which will be subsequently discussed by all participants.
In addition, summary papers will be written in groups and submitted to a peer review process.
Grades are based on the preparation and presentation of the paper, the participation in the discussion, the written summary paper and the writing of the peer reviews.
The papers will typically be recent publications in relevant journals such as “Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery”, “Machine Learning”, as well as “Journal of Machine Learning Research”.
Students may also propose their own topics if they fit the theme of the seminar.
