Short- and Longterm docentships (DAAD)

A short-term docentship of the DAAD is defined to be a teaching stay at a foreign university that lasts at least four weeks and at most six month. A long-term docentship means that the docent usually is employed regularly at the foreign university.

A scholarship for a short-term docentship for instance includes:

  • Flight and travel expenses (Economy class; train: first class including usage of a sleeper; this is not valid for the following countries: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy (except for railways south of the route Rome - Pescara), Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom)
  • daily additional allowance for accomodation and living costs (depending on the country between EUR 47 and EUR 188), please note that this allowance is shortened by 10% if you stay longer than 15 days at the same place

The application deadlines for 2013 are:

  • decision (reviewer conference): 2013-02-28 and 2013-03-01 - application until 2012-12-20
  • decision (reviewer conference): 2013-06-06 and 2013-06-07 - application until 2013-03-28
  • decision (reviewer conference): 2013-10-10 and 2013-10-11 - application until 2013-08-01
  • decision (reviewer conference): 2013-12-12 and 2013-12-13 - application until 2013-10-03
