News Application Subjects

Currently, there are no news in this list.

There is a News-Archive containing all old news.

General Information

The Department of Computer Science always tries to keep the study plans of the Application Subjects up to date. Nevertheless, from time to time changes are happening. However, the current study plan is always valid for all students. Exams that are already passed or registered can never be altered by a change of the study plan.

Please note that exams have to be registered directly in TUCaN. Exams that are not listed in the study plan cannot be registered or used. Due to changes of the number of a module or the deletion of a module, there can be old ones listed in TUCaN that are outdated. These should be ignored.

Unfortunately, suggesting an individual Application Subject is not possible any more. Alternatively, a new Application Subject can be suggested. Given that it satifies some fundamental criteria it will be included in the current list of Application Subjects. For detailed information on that topic and a broad selection of other topics please visit the FAQ.

The credit points given in the study plan of the corresponding Application Subject are valid in any case. Information given on websites related to the lectures are invalid. Furthermore, any informationen given on webpages of the lecturer is not relevant for the Application Subject. Specifities concering the registration of an exam are always valid as they are given in the study plan.

There is an archive which consists of older study plans. It can be found here.

There is a mailing list for each Application Subject. Given that you have a valid TU-ID, you can subscribe or unsubscribe here. If there are significant changes in the structure of the Application Subject you will be informed then.

There is a forum for the Application Subject which you can find here.

Various information

General Information related to courses of the Application Subject

  • If it becomes necessary to exchange a course, please clarifiy the change with the contact person of the Application Subject. Then, you have to contact and inform Frederik Janssen.
  • If you like to participate in courses that are not listed in the study plan of the Application Subject, please clarify that with the contact person. Remember to inform Frederik Janssen then. He has to confirm the change. The mandatory information is: name of the course, module number of TUCaN, credit points. Please note that all study plans are created, maintained and updated very carefully so that a change of a course can be only granted in exceptional cases.

Information on TUCaN

  • Whenever TUCaN lists a wrong course please inform Frederik Janssen.
  • If your study plan is different than the current one provided by TUCaN but you have already passed some exams and there are inconsistencies now, please also contact Frederik Janssen.
  • If there are courses that are not listed in TUCaN but they are present in the study plan, please contact Frederik Janssen.
  • If there are lectures listed in TUCaN which are not in the study plan, the lectures cannot be taken. If one nevertheless participates in the lecture it just does not count.
  • If there are problems with registration deadlines of courses please register the course via this page. Remember to inform Frederik Janssen as soon as possible.
  • We suggest to verify that all courses are assigned correctly in TUCaN. Especially when there are bigger changes of the study plans or when you have changed you Application Subject it is necessary to make sure that everything is fine.

Information on the current summer term

There will be no new Application Subjects in this semester.

Information about the study plans

Please note that it can be necessary to empty the cache of your browser from time to time. This is necessary to ensure that you always have the latest version of the study plans. Given that the study plan was opened, then the document is updated and during the same session you re-open it again, it will be outdated.

Note that the study plans are available only in German. Still, the fundamental structure of an Application Subject can be figured out without knowing any German. If you have trouble understanding please contact Frederik Janssen.

Below you find a list of Application Subjects that are expired:
