Research Associate (PhD Student) (f/m/d) – High-Performance Computing

Each position initially involves a three-year fixed-term contract, starting January 1, 2021. An extension of the contract is possible in principle.

Successful candidates will carry out exciting projects related to the design of programming tools for high-performance computing systems or the development of new scheduling algorithms for data-intensive applications using novel storage technologies. The work offers rich opportunities for international collaboration with leading European research institutions.

The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline. We expect excellent independent research und support the publication of results in high-impact journals and at top conferences. Required are a very good command of written and spoken English, a high level of commitment, and the ability to work in a team. Knowledge of high-performance computing is a plus.

Opportunity for further qualification (doctoral dissertation) is given. The fulfillment of the duties enables at the same time the scientific qualification of the candidates.
