The paper “Sunstone: Navigating the Way Through the Fog” was accepted at the International Conference on Fog and Edge Computing (ICFEC), to be colocated with the IEEE/ACM CCGrid in November.

In the paper, TK researchers address the problem of scalable discovery mechanisms for federated fog computing sites. The authors propose a combination of on-path and off-path discovery mechanisms that leverage existing protocols in the global routing infrastructure and require no modification to existing network middleboxes. Sunstone also includes a policy-based end-to-end orchestrator and its feasibility is validated in an Internet-scale testbed.
