Construction of Research Infrastructures for eHumanities
DARIAH I is over. However, UKP Lab continues to be involved in DARIAH II.
Motivation
DARIAH-DE is the German contribution to the EU-ESFRI-Project DARIAH-EU. The mission of DARIAH is to enhance and support digitally-enabled research across the arts and humanities. DARIAH aims to develop and maintain an infrastructure in support of research practices based on information and communication technology – so called virtual research environments.
The Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing Lab leads the work package 1.4 “Services for Humanities”.
Goals
The contribution of work package 1.4 to the DARIAH-DE project are illustrative prototypes and demonstrators, that are specified in collaboration with researchers in the humanities, and that build upon the general infrastructure and best practices developed by DARIAH.
Methods
Concrete methods will be defined during the course of the project. Approaches are likely to include methods and solutions from the area of information retrieval and semantic information retrieval for locating resources and services, as well as the provisioning of services and solutions for the humanities as web services and platform-independent applications.
