We would like to warmly invite you to the General Assembly for Gender Equality of the Department of Computer Science, including the election of the departmental Gender Equality Officer.
Date: 22 April 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Hybrid: Room S2|02 B002 and via Zoom (please request the link via e-mail)
We are happy to welcome everyone who would like to attend. In particular, all women and non-binary and inter* members of Department 20 across all status groups are warmly invited.
Election of the Departmental Gender Equality Officer All female, non-binary and inter* employees of the department are eligible both to stand for election and to vote. From the current team, two members are standing for election for a third term. We are therefore looking for at least two additional candidates to complete the team of four. Anyone who can imagine standing for election is encouraged to contact us in advance with any questions. This is entirely optional and not a prerequisite for candidacy.
We offer an onboarding program for this role, which includes a two-day retreat at the end of June together with all departmental Gender Equality Officers of TU Darmstadt. Further information on the role can be found here: https://www.tu-darmstadt.de/gleichstellungsbeauftragte/organisation/dezentrale_gleichstellungsbeauftragte/index.en.jsp
Joining the Gender Equality Team The Gender Equality Team currently consists of four departmental Gender Equality Officers and two additional members. Together, we work to promote gender equality and organize events within the department. We are organized in a grassroots-democratic manner, allowing everyone to contribute according to their interests. We are always happy to welcome new members. Students and staff of all status groups and all genders are welcome.
Planned are:
- Welcome and review of gender equality activities over the past two years (~ 5–10 minutes)
- Election for the nomination of the departmental Gender Equality Officer (~ 10 minutes)
- Miscellaneous and farewell (~ 5 min)
- get-together over tea and cookies
Why should I come? Anyone who can imagine participating in any way on the subject of equality in the department will find various opportunities to do so here and afterwards in the discussion. The role of the departmental Gender Equality Officer is just one of several possible forms of participation. The way in which the decentralized Equal Opportunities Officers are appointed is prescribed to us. However, the composition of the equal opportunities team and the priorities set for the work of the department over the next two years gives us a lot of freedom.
We greatly appreciate the support of a broad group in filling this role and especially welcome your ideas, suggestions, and impulses for future activities. This meeting provides an excellent opportunity for that.
