Female Scientist Lecture Series with Dr. Christine Utz

On February 8, Dr. Christine Utz, a postdoctoral researcher at the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security in Saarbrücken, Germany, gave an exciting lecture whose title was “6 Years After the GDPR: Challenges and Opportunities for More Usable Privacy on the Web and Beyond.

In her lecture she focused on the developments since GDPR’s entry into force in 2018 that led to current status quo, alternative approaches towards respecting user privacy than ''notice and consent'', and what researchers and system designers, could do to work towards a digital world that both provides users with technology that facilitates and enriches their lives while still respecting their digital rights.

This lecture, organized as part of our Female Scientists Lecture Series, was well visited with an informal Q & A session that offered students the opportunity to ask questions pertaining to the research work of Dr. Utz as well as her scientific career.
