Leadership Training for Female RTG members with Simone Schiffner-Backhaus

On February 10-11, 2023, Female RTG PhDs and Associates traveled to hotel “Haus Müllestumpe” in Bonn to participate in a training on leadership. The gender equality training was held by the coach Simone Schiffner-Backhaus who has managed the PR and communication strategy of several large German and international companies and thus, with her strong background in communication and HR, does not only talk about leadership in teams but knows hands-on how to manage and guide a team. She introduced the PhD students to different leadership styles, clear communication, briefing employees and communicating requirements and expectations. On the second day, the female scientists learned different types of delegation, how to motivate team members and how to give feedback to them. The training included many interactive exercises as well as collegial consultation and peer feedback.
