Professor Mühlhäuser Moderates the Panel on Resilience at Scientific Flagship Conference “UbiComp”

The flagship scientific conference in the research field of ubiquitous computing – UbiComp – took place in Cancun, Mexico, October 8 – 12, 2023. Professor Max Mühlhäuser, RTG Privacy and Trust for Mobile Users Spokesperson and EmergenCity directorate member, organized and moderated a panel discussion on resilience there, representing the EmergenCITY center at the conference.

During the panel discussion, internationally renowned panelists offered diverse and insightful perspectives on the topic, ranging from urban planning to engineering and computer science trying to answer the question whether ubiquitous computing is a blessing or a curse for resilient cities and infrastructures.

The panel was one of the two plenary events within the three main days of the conference, thus attracting a large audience. Written and oral feedback of the conference participants was excellent, and many researchers in the audience confessed that they had hitherto underestimated the relevance of resilience through and for ICT.
