Join the Konrad Zuse School of Excellence in Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELIZA), Germany’s national graduate school for AI excellence, and become part of a world-class research network.
ELIZA is coordinated by TU Darmstadt and funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). It connects leading AI centers across Germany to train the next generation of AI experts who combine deep technical insight with interdisciplinary impact.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct doctoral research in machine learning and AI, developing new theories, algorithms, and systems
- Collaborate within an international network of ELIZA Fellows across German universities and industry
- Participate in the structured ELIZA doctoral curriculum
- Complete a 6–12 month research stay at another ELIZA site
- Present research at international conferences and publish in top-tier venues
- Contribute to the research community through collaboration and mentorship
Your Profile
- Excellent Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and programming skills
- Solid knowledge in machine learning and related AI subfields (e.g., NLP, CV, robotics)
- Experience with modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, etc.) is a plus
- High motivation, reliability, and creativity in research
- Strong teamwork and English communication skills
- German proficiency or willingness to learn is an advantage
