Artificial intelligence (AI), smart data, algorithms – these terms electrify politics, economy and society. ekom21 also deals with AI technologies: For the Hessentag 2019, the largest municipal IT service provider in Hesse for the first time presented a facial analysis system that supports driver identification in administrative offence cases.

The prerequisite for the new technologies is provided by basic research such as that carried out in TU Darmstadt. Prof. Dr. Iryna Gurevych from the UKP Lab gave an interview to einfo21-digital, in which she discussed how researchers use AI technology to teach computers to recognize natural language.
