Best Participating System in SemEval-2012 STS Task

2012/04/27

The UKP system performed best in the Semantic Textual Similarity (STS) task at SemEval-2012 in two out of three metrics.

The UKP system participated in the pilot Semantic Textual Similarity (STS) task at the workshop series on Semantic Evaluation (SemEval-2012), which will be associated with the new *SEM, First Joint Conference on Lexical and Computational Semantics, and co-located with NAACL, Montreal, Canada. The system uses a simple log-linear regression model, trained on the training data, to combine multiple text similarity measures of varying complexity. Our system performed best in two out of three metrics.
