2013/04/05

On Thursday, April 11, Simone Ponzetto will be giving an invited talk and meeting with interested researchers. The topic of the talk will be, “Get Richer or Die Tryin': Knowledge-Rich Natural Language Processing for the Semantic Web”. In this talk, Simone will discuss semantifying the Web to enable next-generation technologies like semantic search. He will present recent work involving structured knowledge and semantic information mining knowledge from Wikipedia, integrating it with lexical resources like WordNet, and translating its concepts to produce BabelNet. The results confirm the notion that Natural Language Processing applications can benefit substantially from large amounts of knowledge to achieve human-level performance on complex language processing tasks.
