On January 24, 2025, Professor of Informatics Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi welcomed the U.S. Consul General in Frankfurt, Brian Heath, and his delegation for a visit to the System Security Lab. The discussions focused on current developments in IT security, ranging from artificial intelligence (AI) to satellite research.

During the meeting, researchers from the System Security department presented their current work on the secure use of artificial intelligence in various application areas. Special attention was given to the question of how AI can be used responsibly and securely in critical systems.

Another highlight of the meeting was the reflection on a previous collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt: As part of a joint project, AI was used to create a modern version of President John F. Kennedy’s famous 1963 speech at Frankfurt's Paulskirche.

The visit emphasized the importance of transatlantic cooperation in research and innovation. Both sides expressed great interest in further deepening their collaboration and reaffirmed their ongoing support for joint scientific initiatives.
