Google Women Techmakers Scholarship for computer science for Kristina Hostáková

Kristina Hostáková – Ph.D. student from the Applied Cryptography research group at the department of omputer Science – was selected to receive the Women Techmakers Scholarship for computer science sponsored by Google as one of 20 scholars from the EMEA region. T

he goal of the Scholarship is to create gender equality in the tech industry by encouraging women to excel as active participants and leaders in the field.

Kristina Hostáková, who conducts research in the profile area CYSEC and the Collaborative Research Centre CROSSING, applied with several essays discussing the question of how to be a strong female leader and encouraging women to pursue a career in computer science – skills she was able to develop at the TU in various events and with the support of CROSSING.

The Women Techmakers Scholars Program

Women Techmaker Scholars join a global community of scholars, have access to a forum to share resources, support other women in tech, and collaborate on projects to make a continued impact in your community. The scholarships are awarded based on the strength of each candidate's impact on diversity, demonstrated leadership and academic background. All scholarship recipients will be invited to the annual Google Student Retreat in the summer of 2020 to connect with fellow scholars, network with Googlers, and participate in a number of development workshops. Professional development and community outreach opportunities will continue to be offered after the retreat.

Women Techmakers Scholars will each receive a 7,000 EUR award (or local equivalent) for the 2020-2021 academic year.
