Nowadays, smart phones and internet services automatically gather billions of data sets about the users' behavior on a daily basis. These data sets are building the foundation of marketing strategies and whole businesses. However, this enormous collection of private data also raises sincere privacy concerns. Therefore, in the research project A.1 multiple technical solutions will be developed that protect the users' data while still allowing the service providers to collect precise and business relevant statistics.
A special focus in A.1 is set on the development of light weight methods to dynamically measure the privacy relevance of data base queries. Optimally, these techniques should detect privacy violating queries in real time, thus, allowing to take suitable countermeasures. Concluding, A.1 aims towards technical solutions that empower the users and return their control over personal data.
