Master´s program in IT-Sicherheit

In the design and implementation process of future IT systems, sound knowledge of hardware and software protection and reliability will play an enormous role.

Important information

The M.Sc. IT-Sicherheit program will be closed as of 30 September 2024. It will be continued with the new study program M.Sc. IT Security. Students can enroll in this program for the last time in the summer semester 2024. All students will be given sufficient time to complete their degree.

Further information

Our Master´s program IT-Sicherheit comprises four semesters. It focuses on three main topics through introductory compulsory courses and in-depth elective courses:

  • Cryptography: Modern encryption methods and other basic cryptographic algorithms and protocols.
  • System Security: Security of embedded networks and systems
  • Software Security: security and reliability of software, design of security architectures for large IT systems

In addition, the design of modern security systems requires good knowledge in various areas of classical Computer Science, such as Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Database Systems or Networks.

Further information on the degree programme can be found on the pages of the university`s Student Advisory Service.

Lectures

You can see the courses that you can take in your degree programme in the respective semester in TUCaN under Events > Registration and then the corresponding area.

Teaching cooperation between TU Darmstadt's and h_da's Department of Computer Science

Since summer semester 2010 both departments open some courses for students from the other institution. The cooperation applies to courses offered within M.Sc. IT Security at TU Darmstadt and M.Sc. Computer Science, specialisation IT Security, at h_da.

Information about the course schedule for lectures of h_da are available from the following link:
